INTRODUCTION

ACQUISITION: This addition to the Carleton Elliott Simensen Military Heritage Collection,164th Infantry Association Records was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by James Fenelon, Marshalltown, Iowa on August 1, 1997 (Acc.# 97-2145).

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the 164th Infantry Association Records includes material related to World War II, including first hand accounts of Guadalcanal and a general history of companies attached to the 164th. Also included are materials of the Association, including by-laws, agendas and minutes, dues, membership information, correspondence, and information pertaining to annual reunions. The World War II folders are arranged first, followed by the Association materials. This addition dates from 1943-1993.
