Prairie Wings was a monthly publication of original poetry, mainly written by residents of North Dakota. Publication began in May 1936 and continued until February 1948. The magazine was originally entitled Prairie Wings A Publication for North Dakota Poets and Poetry Lovers. This name was changed in 1939 to Prairie Wings Official Organ of the North Dakota Poetry Society. The publication gave area poets a chance to gain some experience in writing as well as recognition by other poets and poetry lovers. It also gave the poets a chance to have their poems published for others to enjoy. The collection dates from May 1936-January/February 1948.
