Grand Forks Independent School District No.1 was organized in 1881, followed by the construction of Grand Forks Central School in 1882. The first high school students to receive diplomas graduated in 1887. The current Grand Forks Central High School building was constructed on the site of the old Central School in 1917. The first edition of The Forx Annual was published in 1911, and contained historical information about all previous classes.
