HISTORICAL SKETCH

The Grand Forks Federated Church formed when the First Baptist Church and Plymouth Congregational Church merged. The First Baptist Church was founded on October 16, 1881, while the Plymouth Congregational Church was incorporated February 9, 1885. The two churches merged to form the Federated Church on August 7, 1945.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Grand Forks Federated Church Records consist of materials related to the Grand Forks Federated Church, as well as from the two independent churches prior to the federation. Material includes the constitution and by- laws, articles of incorporation and federation, correspondence, meeting minutes, financial records, annual reports, memberships lists, scrapbooks and newspaper clippings. The collection dates from 1887 to 1995, and consists of material in bound volumes and folders.
