ACQUISITION: This addition to the Neil C. McDonald Papers was deposited in the Orin G. Libby Manuscript Collection by John McDonald, Annapolis, Maryland, on November 25, 1988 (Acc.#88-1629).

ACCESS: Open for inspection under the rules and regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This addition to the Neil C. McDonald Papers consists of various material dated from 1896-1970. Folder 7 contains a teacher's contract for Katherine Belanger, dated 1896. Katherine Belanger married Neil C. McDonald in 1904. Folder 8 consists of Neil McDonald's property tax statement from 1910. Folder 9 contains three letters written to McDonald by William Langer and the Fargo Courier-News (1922) and William Lemke (1924). All of the letters are political in nature. The next folder, #10, contains a letter written to Katherine (Belanger) McDonald Tiffany in 1970, regarding the establishment of the Neil McDonald scholarship at UND. The last folder consists of miscellaneous newspaper clippings. The folders are arranged chronologically, with the exception of the newspaper clippings, which were placed last.
