ACQUISTION: The Anthropology Department records were deposited in the University Archives Collections on July 11, 2003 by Melinda Leach, Anthropology Department (RCN# 2003 - 0015).

ACCESS: Available for inspection under the Rules and Regulations of the Department of Special Collections.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

This collection contains various administrative and faculty documents from the Anthropology Department. The administrative files consist of bylaws and policies of the department concerning research funds, artifact acquisition, and faculty expectations. Various reports, memoranda, and correspondence are included regarding the overhaul of the department and curriculum. There is also material regarding the North Dakota Intertribal Reinterment Committee, various endowment funds, meeting minutes for different departmental committees, and various correspondence. Also included are newspaper clippings about the department, faculty members, the university, and the state of North Dakota.

The faculty files contain specific information about various faculty members in the Anthropology Department. These files contain information such as: curriculum vitas, academic records, correspondence and memoranda regarding positions and employment within the department (including letters of recommendation, memoranda of appointment and reappointment, etc...), copies of manuscripts written by the faculty member, and newspaper clippings.
