Women’s Center Meet, Eat and Learn will discuss “Sexual Violence: The Universal Terrorism” April 6
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. The Women's Center Meet, Eat and Learn will discuss "Sexual Violence: The Universal Terrorism" with speaker Dheeshana Jayasundara from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, in the International Centre.
Jayasundara will speak about the dynamics of sexual violence and share her 11-plus years experiences as an activist, researcher, and counselor.
Dheeshana Sugandhi Jayasundara completed her undergraduate studies in sociology from the University of Delhi, India. She completed her first master’s degree in the field of criminology and criminal justice from the University of Missouri. Her second master’s degree and the doctoral studies were pursued at the University of Texas in Arlington in social work. Interested in international social work and global and comparative research, she is an assistant professor at the UND Department of Social Work, where she teaches a class on family violence.
Everyone is welcome, and lunch will be provided.
