Remembering Diana Carlson
It is with regret that we announce the death of Diana Carlson, event coordinator and enforcement officer for the Parking Office, who died Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011 at home of undiagnosed health issues. She was 43.
Diana Lee Soderquist was born Aug. 15, 1967, in Grand Forks to Ronald and Cyndie (Trimborn) Soderquist. She was raised and educated in Grand Forks, and attended Winship Elementary and Valley Middle Schools before graduating from Central High School in 1985. She attended and graduated from Ackers Business College. She was pursuing her bachelor’s degree from UND while working for the parking enforcement office.
Diana dearly loved her children, her animals and her job. She enjoyed reading and backyard fires.
She is survived by her children, Michelle Knaus-Soderquist and Tyler Carlson, both of Grand Forks; parents, Ronald and Cyndie Soderquist, Grand Forks; siblings, Ron Soderquist Jr., Fargo, Sally Soderquist, Grand Forks and Zackary Soderquist, Lincoln, Neb.; grandmother, Helen Soderquist, Galesburg, Ill.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Everett Soderquist and Herman “Bud” and Lois Trimborn. Diana touched many lives and will truly be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation is set for 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Amundson Funeral Home, 2975 S. 42nd St., Grand Forks. The memorial service is set for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12, at Amundson Funeral Home.
