Space scientist to participate in NASA news conference on major asteroid research
NASA will host a news conference at 3 p.m. Thursday, May 10, to present a new analysis of the giant asteroid Vesta using data from the agency's Dawn spacecraft.
The event will be broadcast live on NASA Television and streamed on the agency's web site.
The panelists are scientists involved in the Dawn project; the group includes UND Space Studies faculty member Vishnu Reddy, well-known for his research on asteroids and his discovery of an asteroid later named “North Dakota.” Reddy is a Dawn framing camera team member, currently working at Germany’s Max Planck Institute for Solar System Research.
