Women’s Center Meet, Eat and Learn is Sept. 26
October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and the Women's Center welcomes Karyn Hippen for the next Meet, Eat and Learn. Hippen's presentation is set for Wednesday, Sept. 26, from noon to 1 p.m. at the International Centre.
Karyn Hippen is an administrative secretary for the PXW Department at UND. She grew up in North Dakota and Wisconsin, before enlisting in the United States Navy where she served on active duty for five years. She then returned to the Grand Forks area where she now lives with her husband and three sons. Karyn will speak about her personal experiences with domestic violence and how these life experiences and her compassion for others motivates her work with domestic abuse and suicide prevention and awareness.
What is Meet, Eat and Learn? It's a monthly presentation where you can learn something new, share views and ideas, and interact with others - all while enjoying a delicious and free lunch. Topics are ever-changing and are related to issues that affect the UND community and beyond. Everyone is welcome, and lunch is provided.
