Denim Day is Oct. 17

Denim Day is Wednesday, Oct. 17. Pay $1 to your site coordinator and enjoy going casual for local charities. This would be a great day to wear your UND Spirit shirt too. If your office allows you to wear denim all the time, consider still giving $1 on Denim Days. Donations go to very good causes. Checks, if any, must be made out to “Denim Day.”

All proceeds collected during 2012 will go to the following: (1) Altru Wings of Hope Infant and Child Bereavement Program (provides support/services to families who have lost a child); (2) Community Violence Intervention Center (provides support/assistance to victims of violence); (3) Global Friends Coalition (provides support/services to New American refugees); (4) Grand Forks Senior Center – Meals on Wheels (provides hot meals to home-bound older adults); (5) Home Delivered Meals (provides hot meals to people at nutritional risk); (6) Mountainbrooke Recovery Center (provides wellness/recovery services to adults with a mental illness); (7) Northlands Rescue Mission (provides assistance/advocacy to the homeless); (8) Safe Kids Grand Forks (provides education/services to prevent unintentional injury or death to children); (9) Special Olympics North Dakota (provides education/services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities); (10) Third Street Clinic (provides health services to low-income, uninsured and medically unprotected residents of our community); and (11) YMCA Family Center (provides child care, youth development, health, education and leadership programs, mentoring, and community events).
