CILT holds forums on e-books Nov. 6, clickers Nov. 28
The Center for Instructional and Learning Technologies (CILT) will hold the following events.
Tech Trends Forum: E-books and Online Notetaking Options, Tuesday, Nov. 6, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Memorial Union Badlands Room.
E-books provide new ways of interacting with textbooks as well as portability and instant access. Read&Write GOLD is an example of an application that can read text and provide note taking options. What are faculty and student experiences and preferences with these new digital course materials? Learn more from colleagues using e-books and share your experiences. Please register by noon Nov. 5 to guarantee a lunch.
Tech Trends Forum: Clickers and Student Responses in the Classroom, Wednesday, Nov. 28, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., Memorial Union River Valley Room.
Clickers and audience response systems offer additional engagement opportunities in the classroom, such as checking student understanding, collecting opinions, and promoting discussion based on real-time data on student choices. Learn how faculty are using these strategies to increase student interaction, and share your experiences.
