Biology candidate to give seminar Nov. 20
Tomas Helikar, a candidate for the systems biology faculty position in the biology department, will present "Large-scale dynamical models in disease" at noon Tuesday, Nov. 20, in 141 Starcher Hall.
Helikar received his Ph.D. in computational systems biology/bioinformatics from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2010. He is now a research associate in the Department of Mathematics at University of Nebraska at Omaha. His research interests include computational modeling of complex biological networks in healthy cells and various diseases (cancer, HIV, influenza), dynamics of the immune system, and technology innovation in the area of computational systems biology.
Everyone is welcome.
