Dial-up service will be discontinued Jan. 2

As access to high speed Internet connections for home use has increased, there has been a steady decline in the use of the UND modem pool. Due to the decreased use, the age and condition of the modems, and the cost of maintaining the service, UND will terminate the service as of Jan. 2, 2013. The service will continue to be available “as is” until termination, however if equipment fails then the service may need to be discontinued earlier.

If you have been relying on the UND modem pool for your Internet connection, please make arrangements to change to a different Internet Service Provider (ISP) prior to that time.

•             On-Campus – DSL services within UND apartments is available for a fee, contact the Housing Office at 701.777.4251) for details.

•             Off-Campus – A number of options are available for a fee within the Grand Forks area, please contact your local Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you use software such as Outlook, Thunderbird, Mac Mail etc. to access your email account, you will need to change your outgoing mail settings.
