Staff Senate is pleased to announce that the February U-Shine Award recipient is Earl Battle,

Earl Battle receives U-Shine award

Graphics Designer for the Energy and Environmental Research Center.  Earl was nominated by Joyce Riske, Graphics Manager for the EERC, and was presented with a check for $50, a small token of appreciation, and a certificate by Staff Senate Vice President Diane Hillebrand.

This award is presented monthly to a UND staff member who went out of his or her way to make UND a better place.

Earl helped clean up after a fellow employee had a minor medical emergency.  In another instance, he helped carry boxes.  Here is an excerpt from the nomination: "I have been on the receiving end of Earl's kindness many times. He is genuinely concerned with people and always helpful. For these reasons, I nominate him for the U-Shine award.”

All UND staff members are eligible to receive this award.  Nominations can be submitted through the Staff Senate website at http://und.edu/staff-senate; nomination forms are also available at UND Facilities, Dining Services and the Memorial Union Post Office. Nominations must be received by the 15th of each month.
