UND community invited to participate in Relay For Life

The UND Relay For Life Planning Committee would like to invite all of you to participate in the 2013 UND Relay For Life! Our event will be held on April 12-13, in the Hyslop Sports Center.

Relay For Life is a fun-filled overnight event designed to celebrate survivorship and raise money for the research and programs of your American Cancer Society. During the event, teams of people gather and take turns walking. Each team tries to keep at least one team member on the track at all times. Because cancer never sleeps, Relay is an overnight dusk to dawn event that goes from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

The American Cancer Society Relay For Life represents the hope that those lost to cancer will never be forgotten, that those who face cancer will be supported, and that one day cancer will be eliminated. At Relay, every person who participates joins others around the globe as part of this worldwide movement to end cancer.

Attention Survivors:
If you are a survivor, we would be honored if you came and let us celebrate you. We will be having a survivor dinner at 6 p.m. and the opening ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. with the survivor lap to follow. Your caregivers are welcome as well. To sign up, go to and click Sign Up and then Walk the Survivor Lap.

To Start or Join a Team:
1) Click sign-up
2) Click on Start a new team or Join an existing team
3) Have other team members join your team (they do not need to be a UND student or faculty)
4) Set up your personal fundraising page and start fundraising. We ask that every person tries to raise at least $100. You can send out emails through your Relay Participant Center and copy and paste the link to your facebook status. Raising $100 is really not that hard and every dollar counts in the fight against cancer!

Thanks again.
