Forum for third Dean of Arts & Sciences candidate is April 25

Four candidates for the University of North Dakota’s Dean of College of Arts & Sciences have been invited to visit campus for interviews.

The search is chaired by Dr. Hesham El-Rewini, Dean of the College of Engineering & Mines.

The candidates are:

Dr. Todd Pfannestiel, Faculty Fellow to the President for Planning, Assessment, and Improvement, Clarion University of Pennsylvania

Dr. Allan Burns, Professor Emeritus, University of Florida

Dr. Lee Kats, Vice Provost for Research & Strategic Initiatives, Pepperdine University

Dr. Debbie Storrs, Associate Dean, College of Letters, Arts, & Social Sciences, University of Idaho.

Each candidate will give a 25 minute presentation,  “Vision for Arts & Sciences Education and How It Relates to UND” at an open campus forum followed by a question and answer period.  The forums will be live-streamed at  The forum is open to the campus community and the public to meet and greet the candidate.

2:30 – 3:30 p.                       Open Forum – North Ballroom, Memorial Union
3:30 – 4 p.m.                         Campus Reception – Dakota Lounge, Memorial Union

Monday, April 29, Dr. Debbie Storrs
2:30 – 3:30 p.m.                   Open Forum – Lecture Bowl, Memorial Union
3:30 – 4 p.m.                          Campus Reception – Fireside Lounge, Memorial Union

The campus visits of Todd Pfannestiel and Allan Burns have been completed.
