New ceramics course taught by Dan Van Tassell, artist in residence
Want to spark your creativity using clay? Enroll in Introduction to Ceramics course taught by Dan Van Tassell, UND artist in residence. Learn basic techniques for making functional and sculptural objects using hand and potter’s wheel methods. You will also become familiar with using various glazing and firing techniques to create your own works of art!

• Length: eight weeks (Thursdays)
• Time: 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
• Location: Hughes Fine Arts Center
• Cost: Employees and Affiliates - $225; General Public - $250
• Note: This class is not for academic credit.
The cost of instruction includes: parking, clay supplies and use of the facility. Pottery tools will be available, but you are encouraged to purchase your own pottery tools from the Bookstore. In addition to the scheduled class hours, the Hughes Fine Arts Center is open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday for you to work on your projects if desired.
Dan Van Tassell obtained his Master of Fine Arts in ceramics from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he also taught an Introduction to Ceramics class. Van Tassell has participated in 23 exhibitions and has won several awards for his work.
