Sept. 16 Oil Can! Community Day will feature Bakken Basics, BBQ Sept. 16
On Monday, Sept. 16, the North Dakota Petroleum Council and Greater Grand Forks Convention and Visitors Bureau will hold an Oil Can! Community Day and Barbecue at the Alerus Center, 2:30 t0 7:30 p.m.
This event includes Bakken Education Sessions, with Bakken Basics at 2:30 and 4 p.m. by Ron Ness, President of the North Dakota Petroleum Council; Kathy Neset, President of Neset Consulting Service and member of the State Board of Higher Education; and Lynn Helms, Director for the North Dakota Department of Mineral Resources. Showcase and industry booths will provide information about companies operating in the Bakken and industry jobs in eastern and western North Dakota.
A free Community Barbecue is set for 5 to 7:30 p.m., featuring smoked pulled pork, smoked sausage and BBQ chicken with sides, courtesy of Halliburton. Events for people of all ages include face painting and blow up games for the kids, and the community is encouraged to tour the exhibit hall in the Alerus Center.
