Chester Fritz Library seeks input during budget balancing project
During the next two months, the Chester Fritz Library will be undertaking a review of resources with the goal of balancing expenditures and available funding. This year, the Chester Fritz Library will experience a reduction in “one-time” funding while costs for scholarly resources continue to increase. In order to balance the budget, the Library will need to offset the need for and costs of licenses, subscriptions and purchases of scholarly resources.
There will be a very short time frame for decisions. Many of the subscriptions and licenses are renewed in October and November for the 2014 calendar year. The Library will post resources targeted for cancellation and will work with departments in making decisions. Additional information will be distributed in the coming weeks.
An increase in Interlibrary Loan activity is expected as a result of the reductions and Library staff will work to obtain needed resources as quickly as possible.
On behalf of the entire Chester Fritz Library staff, we appreciate your cooperation during this process.
