Flamingo fundraiser benefits Nonprofit Leadership Student Association

UND’s Nonprofit Leadership Student Association (NLSA) is hosting a flock of flamingos, and sometimes they fly the coop! Would you like to make a victim of your neighbor, boss, friend, or in-laws? The birds are very active but will only strike at night. The flock will strike for $25 or $15 for a smaller flock. The birds will not flock until payment has been collected. We accept cash and checks only. Please make checks payable to NLSA. To order your “flock” please find us on Facebook, email, or call us at 777.3741 with your flocking details.

Proceeds will assist NLSA students in attending a professional development conference hosted by the Alliance Management Institute. The Alliance Management Institute is often referred to as the “Capstone Experience” for students and is an extraordinary learning and networking opportunity that will strengthen the student’s knowledge of the nonprofit sector. The conference is held early January each year. Each year the students collaborate to find creative ways to fundraise to support the students attending in order to pay for airfare, registration fees, and lodging.

The NLSA is a student organization that provides social and cultural opportunities for its members, as well as preparing future leaders in the field of nonprofit leadership. NLSA focuses on community service and volunteerism in the Grand Forks community. In addition to leadership, members are given the opportunity to develop skills in working as a team. Students in the program have the opportunity to participate in hands on learning experiences with local nonprofit organizations and programs.
