Summer mini-grant proposals Due Dec. 13
Are you planning an event at UND next summer but lack funding? Do you plan to develop a new summer course but need financial resources? Consider applying for a mini-grant through Summer Programs and Events (SPE) Mini-Grant Program.
The Summer Programs and Events Start-Up Mini-Grant Program awards deserving proposals for the redesign or expansion of an existing course/program, or the development of a new summer course/program, or an educational activity or community event designed to be implemented in the summer of 2014. SPE’s Start-Up mini-grant program will fund up to $5,000 in the first year for deserving proposals.
Through the mini-grant program, the council wants to create positive learning experiences for the citizens of the Red River Valley Region and beyond by extending the resources of the University. The mini-grant funds will help cover the development, marketing and start-up costs for courses and programs held at UND during the summer months for up to three years. Examples include camps for kids, academic classes that can be completed in the summer months, or any special event designed for the community. Quality, creativity and “out of the box” ideas are encouraged when developing new programs.
All interested faculty and staff are encouraged to submit proposals. Information can be found at www.summer.und.edu. The application deadline is 4:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 13. Recipients will be announced in December 2013.
