Great Conversation Series Committee invites proposals for speakers

The Great Conversation Series Committee recognizes that several colleges, departments, units, and organizations host guest speakers of high caliber every year for the benefit of students, the campus, the Greater Grand Forks Community, and region. Supported, in part, by the Offices of the Provost and President, the Great Conversation Series is distinguished from these notable events by the overall magnitude of the guest and topic.

The purpose of the Great Conversation Series is to support faculty, staff, and students to bring renowned speakers to campus to further the Exceptional University of North Dakota priorities and the expectations of the Great Conversations Series.

Nominations are sought for Great Conversation speakers.  Criteria follow.
The nomination application shall demonstrate the following:
● Commitment to the expectations of the Great Conversation Series.
● Commitment to Exceptional UND priorities.
● Interdisciplinary appeal.
● Evidence of other funding sources.

UND faculty, staff, and students are eligible to nominate.

Nomination forms may be accessed electronically (PDF format/Microsoft Word format), or picked up in the Provost’s Office, Twamley Hall Room 302. Nominations will be selected by a committee appointed by the Provost. Selections by the committee are forwarded to the Provost’s Office for consideration. Nominations are now being accepted for fall/spring. Please deliver completed nominations (in paper format) to the Great Conversations Committee at UND, Twamley Room 302 or mail to the Committee at Stop 8176. Nominations submitted by the first Friday of each month at noon will be given highest consideration.
