Darla Adams named Interim Associate Dean of Nursing & Professional Disciplines
The College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines is pleased to announce that Darla Adams will join Interim Dean Steve Light on the administrative leadership team for the College of Nursing & Professional Disciplines (CNPD).
Adams will serve as interim associate dean and will be charged with providing programmatic leadership and support to advance the teaching, research and service missions of the College. She will work with departmental and program chairs and directors as operational Nursing program administrator. She also will help the College move forward on current priorities regarding mission alignment, collaborative governance, internal and external relationship building, leadership and professional development, and charting a shared vision for the College’s future.
Adams has extensive teaching and administrative experience in higher education, with deep ties to the greater Grand Forks community and to UND. While serving as Program Director for the UND Nurse Anesthesia program, she successfully achieved maximum program accreditation, obtained outstanding student outcomes, and made significant curricular improvements including the development of an evidence-based simulation program for nurse anesthesia students.
Adams has previously served as associate dean for graduate studies within the College of Nursing. She is a past board member and past president of the North Dakota Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
