Oct. 22 workshop focuses on BlackBoard’s new Retention Center

CILT is offering a hands-on workshop on Blackboard’s new Retention Center, which provides an overview of student activity in the course and enables you to give focused attention to students by identifying those who meet your academic criteria for additional support or recognition. Visual alerts identify these students based on missed deadlines, grades, course activity and course access. You can use preset rules for alerts or customize them to fit your course activity levels. Once students are identified, you can easily monitor or contact them. Another benefit of the Retention Center is that it tracks your activity for you, so you can become more aware of your behaviors to support students.

The Retention Center Workshop takes place from 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 22, in the Memorial Union River Valley Room. Bring your lunch and laptop for this hands-on session.
