CRC celebrates Conflict Resolution Day Oct. 17

The Association for Conflict Resolution established Conflict Resolution Day on the third Thursday of October each year worldwide.  Conflict Resolution Day was conceived in 2005 by ACR to:

  • Promote awareness of mediation, arbitration, conciliation and other creative, peaceful means of resolving conflict;
  • Promote the use of conflict resolution in schools, colleges, families, businesses, communities, governments and the legal system;
  • Recognize the significant contributions of (peaceful) conflict resolvers; and
  • Obtain national synergy by having celebrations happen across the country and around the world on the same day.

As the only community mediation center in North Dakota, the UND Conflict Resolution Center provides mediation and other processes to help resolve conflict in our communities, businesses and families.  UND CRC teaches others how to mediate and manage the destructive effects of conflict, and offers courses both on and off campus to gain these leadership and life skills to adults and students.  We encourage you to set an intention to TALK, LISTEN, and RESOLVE differences this week and see if you can make a difference at work, at home, and in your community.  Call us any time – we are here to help: 777.3664.
