Discounts offered for Jan. 6-9 mediation training

The Conflict Resolution Center will offer civil/employment mediation training discounts for the UND community Jan. 6-9.

Learn new or add to your existing skills in working more effectively with conflict in the community, in neighborhoods, civil disputes, and workplace settings.

The 32-hour Civil and Workplace Mediation Training is pre-approved in North Dakota and Minnesota for ADR rosters and will encompass:

Understanding the dynamics of conflict, The Art of having Difficult Conversations (one-on-one skills), impact of conflict on human interaction and relationships, Transformative Mediation Theory,  role of empowerment and recognition, mediator skills and interventions, contexts for using the mediation process, ethics/professional responsibility, and more!. Mediation skills are essential for lawyers today and will increase your ability for working with clients and for professional interpersonal communication.

This Seminar will be held Monday-Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Skalicky Building before spring semester classes begin.

Law students may receive credits through UND Extended Learning (2 Graduate Level – 900 Couns.).  Talk to Asst. Dean Parrish to see if you are eligible.  You will register for these credits on the first day of the seminar and not in advance as with typical academic courses. The cost per credit charged by Extended Learning is $50/credit.

Seminar cost for UND students is $350, $500 for faculty/staff.  Off-campus rate for professionals is $750.  Please register before Dec.2.
