Changes to student enrollment process announced

There is now a new enrollment step for students in effect beginning with Spring 2014 enrollment. Students must now electronically sign a “Financial Obligation Agreement” each term prior to being permitted to enroll. Please visit the Student Account Services website at to view a short demo on what the student needs to do in order to sign.

Once the student has been term activated for the term, they will receive a Financial Obligation Agreement (FOA) hold. This will prevent them from initial registration for the term. Once they have accepted the agreement, the hold will automatically be released, and they can proceed with registration as normal. Students will not be required to sign again if they want to add a course for the same term at a later date.

Please note: When sending Registration Action cards on behalf of a student for their first or only registration for the term, the student must electronically sign the FOA before the Registrar’s Office can process the enrollment.

This is a new procedure that is now in place for all NDUS students. It was approved by the Board office and NDUS legal counsel and is considered “best practice” at colleges and universities across the country. This new procedure will, hopefully, remind students that they are incurring a financial obligation by enrolling in courses and that proper steps must be followed if they intend to withdraw.

A link to the agreement verbiage is also posted on the Student Account Services website as a reference:
