Eric L. Johnson appointed to Tobacco Prevention and Control Advisory Committee
Eric L. Johnson, associate professor in the Department of Family and Community Medicine at the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, was recently appointed to the North Dakota Tobacco Prevention and Control Advisory Committee by Governor Jack Dalrymple. Johnson will serve a three-year term on the committee. He is director of interprofessional education for the School as well as medical director for the SMHS Physician Assistant Program.
In April 2010, Johnson was named Public Health Champion by the Grand Forks City Council. He serves the community, county, and state in several roles. Johnson is the assistant medical director of Altru Health System’s Diabetes Center, assistant medical director of Valley Memorial Homes, and the president of Tobacco Free North Dakota. He provides expert health and medical information to community members, policymakers, and the media.
