Music to host Chamber concert Nov. 5
The UND Vivo Women’s Chamber Choir and Wind Ensemble Chamber Players will present a combined concert at 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 5. The performance will be held in the Hopper-Danley Spiritual Center and is free and open to the public.
Vivo, conducted by Melanie Popejoy, will include in their program Mbiri Kuna Mwari by Lee Kesselman, the opening chorus from Smetana’s Bartered Bride, Linda Spevacek’s arrangement of Beau Soir by Claude Debussy, and Sweet Dreams, the signature tune by the British music duo Eurythmics. Undergraduate conductor Kaylee Lackman will lead Vivo in Os Justi by Eleanor Daley and Ro Ogura’s setting of Hotaru Koi. Graduate conductor Brady Olson will conduct the Wind Ensemble Chamber Players in a performance of An American Tapestry by Minnesota composer Daniel Kallman; James Popejoy will conduct Robert Washburn’s Concertino for Wind and Brass Quintets.
