Forensics Team places third in regional competition

The UND  Forensics Team competed in Fargo against teams from North Dakota and South Dakota, taking third place overall.

In individual events, sophomore Kasie Watkins placed second in poetry interpretation, and freshman Thomas Muscha placed fourth in persuasive speaking.  Both speakers qualified for nationals, which are scheduled to take place in April in Ypsilanti, Mich.

The forensics team is the intercollegiate speech and debate team which was disbanded in 1995 with a history of success.  The team competes around the region and team members get the opportunity to travel off campus, build confidence as well as resume's, learn public speaking and acting skills as well as become better communicators.

The UND Forensics Team is partly sponsored by the Communication Program.

A Forensic Showcase will take place Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Center for Innovation Idea Lab.
