Grand Forks Master Chorale to hold auditions for the 2010-11 season

The Grand Forks Master Chorale is holding auditions from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29. To schedule an audition, e-mail gfmasterchorale@gmail.com or call 777-3376. For audition information, including the season calendar, go to www.gfmc.wordpress.com.

Openings:

Section Leaders: The GFMC has openings for four paid section leaders in all parts. These positions are open anyone, including those who have sung with the chorale in the past, and those who are interested in joining for the first time. The positions will pay an annual stipend of $800. There will be some heightened expectations regarding attendance and learning music, as well as added responsibilities such as leading sectionals, taking attendance, etc. Please indicate if you are interested in this position.

Singers: The GFMC has openings in all sections for regular members.

Please leave your name, phone number, e-mail address, voice part, if you are auditioning for section leader or regular singer, and preferred audition time and date. Someone will respond to confirm. Audition times are first come, first served.

Please prepare one solo piece from the classical tradition with accompaniment. An accompanist will be provided. You will also be asked to sight read and sing a few vocalises. Please arrive 10 minutes early in order to fill out an audition information form. Public school teachers may apply for CEUs (two in fall and two in spring) if they are admitted to the GFMC.

The GFMC is a skilled chamber choir dedicated to performing choral music of the highest quality. Our members, selected by audition, come from strong musical backgrounds and are committed to the art of choral singing.
