There will be a free public lecture at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, in the Paul E. Barr Memorial Lecture Room (227) in the Hughes Fine Arts Center, with a reception to follow. His work will be exhibited throughout the week at the Col. Eugene E. Myers Art Gallery.
Anderson will also teach a workshop on cartooning and graphic novel production from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19, and Thursday, Oct. 21, in Art and Design's digital studio (room 107). The workshop is open to the public.
Verne Anderson's work is an blend of playful satire, thought-provoking imagery and whimsy with a constant undercurrent of philosophical seriousness and concern about the world.
