Center for Innovation hosts entrepreneur forums

The Center for Innovation will host two upcoming entrepreneur forum on campus. The forums will feature young venture capitalist Brooks Burgum and award-winning composer Tim Westergren.

Burgum will speak at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5. Westergren is set to speak at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 9. Both forums will be in the Idea Lab at the Ina Mae Rude Entrepreneur Center, 4200 James Ray Drive.

Burgum, an Arthur, N.D., native, is a 2006 UND alumnus and co-founder of the private equity firm Longwater Opportunities in Dallas. He is also a co-founder of the Sun Plains Group LLC, which focuses on engineering as well as developing and building low income homes in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

Westergren is a successful entrepreneur, award-winning composer, accomplished musician and record producer with 20 years of experience in the music industry. Westergren founded Pandora Internet Radio in January 2000 and now serves as its chief strategy officer. He received his bachelor’s degree from Stanford University, where he studied computer acoustics and recording technology.

The Center for Innovation entrepreneur forums are periodical gatherings of entrepreneurs and business people who share experiences, strategies and success stories.
